At the IAA 2015, Porsche presented a comprehensive facelift. The two basic versions of the 911 (911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S) were delivered for the first time in the history of the 911 with a turbo instead of a naturally aspirated engine from December 12, 2015. In addition, minor external changes were made outside and inside. Standard features are the rear wheels, which are 0.5 inch wider, as well as the PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) active suspension, which was previously available for an extra charge. The new engine has a displacement of just 3.0 liters instead of the previous 3.4 or 3.8 liters, but should still achieve more power and lower consumption. Two BorgWarner turbochargers and two intercoolers are used. The difference in performance between the Carrera and Carrera S results from different boost pressures (Carrera 0.9 bar, Carrera S 1.1 bar) and compressors of different sizes (Carrera 49 mm, Carrera S 51 mm), while the exhaust gas turbines in both are 45 mm in size. The injection nozzles now inject into the combustion chambers from vertically above at a pressure of 250 bar, more than twice as much as before.
