Globe Toys is a range of three inch diecast models based on Majorette 200 Series models with the Majorette logo removed from their bases and issued in their own packaging. They were made from 1981 in Brazil and then later in France.
Two types of blisterpacks are most commonly found, one for the Greek market and one for the German market. Globe Toys are specifically marketed as a 100 Series with
- the Majorette logo removed/hidden,
- metal silver bases usually tinted bronze, and
- some decorations unique to the Globe Toys line, i.e. they are not found in the regular Majorette line.
The description for the Globe Toys range was that they were in fact identical castings from Majorette. The only thing that was changed was the packaging, and the fact that the Majorette logo on the base of the car was removed.
They were made around 1984, recorded as early as 1981. Some were recorded to be made in Brazil during the Kiko period of Majorette. They were still made in France interestingly enough towards the later years.
